Hair that looks like you, on a good day.

Hair salon & colour studioSouth Congress, AustinTuesday to Saturday, nine to seven
Call (000) 000 0000

Four chairs, four people who each do one thing extremely well. Precision cuts, lived-in colour, curls cut dry, and the occasional brave correction. Nobody sells you anything.

TessalineNo. 1 — PricesQuoted before we start

What it costs.

These are starting prices. Length, density and how far you're travelling from your current colour all change the number, so we quote every service before we pick up a brush. The price you agree to is the price you pay.

What clients say

“Marisol did my balayage in March. It's September and I still haven't needed to go back. That's the whole review.”

J. A. — Google review

Across three hundred-odd reviews4.9

“First salon in Austin that cut my curls dry and didn't try to sell me eleven products on the way out.”

R. O. — Yelp

“Kit took me from orange box-dye to a real copper in one long afternoon. They quoted the hours up front and hit them.”

TessalineNo. 2 — The stylistsBook by name

Four chairs, four specialists.

We don't do faces on the website; we'd rather show you what's on the trolley. Each of us has one thing we're known for. Book by name, or tell us what you're after and we'll put you in the right chair.

01Her shears, not the razor

Dana

Precision cuts

Bobs, blunt lines, grown-out pixies brought back into shape. Dana trained in London and has cut with the shears, never the razor, for twelve years. If you want a line you can see from across the room, this is the chair.

02Two visits a year

Marisol

Balayage & lived-in colour

Hand-painted blondes and brunettes that grow out without a line. Marisol's aim is that you come in twice a year and look like you didn't. She'll tell you if what you want won't survive Austin sun.

Theo

Curly hair

Every curl cut here is done dry, one curl at a time, so it falls the way you actually wear it rather than the way it looked wet. Theo works types 2A through 4C and will not, under any circumstances, brush it out.

Kit

Vivid colour & corrections

Copper, oxblood, silver, blue, and the colours that don't have names yet. Kit is also who you come to when a box dye or a bad bleach went wrong. Corrections are quoted in hours after a consultation, and the quote holds.

From the chairs.

A few recent ones, and the room they were done in. We photograph the hair, not the person, unless you ask us to.

TessalineNo. 4 — First visitFifteen minutes, free

New clients

Before you sit down.

A few things we'd rather you knew now than found out in the chair.

Hours
Tuesday to Saturday9 – 7
Last colour booking4:00
Sunday & MondayClosed
01Every new client starts with a fifteen-minute consultation

It's free and it happens before we book the service, in the chair or over email. We look at your hair, talk about what it does on an ordinary Tuesday, and agree on a plan and a price. For colour, bring a photo or two of what you like, and one of what you don't.

02Twenty-four hours to cancel

Cancel or move your appointment up to twenty-four hours before and there's no charge. Inside that window we charge half the booked service; no-shows are charged in full. A colour appointment holds a chair for three hours, so we hold to this one.

03Parking is behind us

There's a small lot at the back with six spaces marked Tessaline, and the back door is unlocked during hours. South Congress is metered and mostly full by ten, so use the lot. We'll send the way in with your confirmation.

04What to arrive with

For a curly cut, come with your hair down, dry, and styled the way you normally wear it. For everything else, come as you are. Coffee and sparkling water are on us; the espresso machine is the loud thing in the corner.

05Running late, or need to move it?

Reply to your confirmation text, or email hello@tessaline.example. More than fifteen minutes late and we may need to shorten the service or move you to the next opening.

Book

Request a time.

Tell us what you're after and when suits. We confirm by text within the working day, usually inside the hour. If you're new, we'll book the consultation first and the service after it.
